Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

7645e all in one scans blank from document feeder. Scans work if not using document feeder and HP Smart. Copy works with ADF. Scanner works just not with HP smart and document feeder. Software is current. Would unloading my printer software and HP Smart and undergo a fresh install and setup fix this?

I have the same issue and because I've always been able to scan using the document feeder or scanner glass (this works) until recently, I suspect the problem lies within HP's recent update to the HP Smart app. I deleted the app and reinstalled it but to no avail. I hope that we're able to get help because I use the feeder often.

@MrTypo

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

It could be.

Uninstall and reinstall it the HP Smart App.

If the issue persists, try these steps:

Let's run the HP Print and Scan Doctor:

Use this link for details on using the HP Print and Scan doctor: https://hp.care/2JyaC93

If the issue still persists, let's do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.)  Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.

Once done, please download and install the software from here:

In case HP is keeping track of this issue, I'm having the identical problem just this afternoon, and it has turned an easy work task into a pain. I don't have to explain the issue because the others above already have. I will go through the (hopeful) fix tonight but I now have to use the scanner glass to hurry up and finish the job. This isn't the first time that I've had to go through fixes on this Envy. My previous HP printer performed great for years until it died. That's the way I like it.

Do you really want user to go through these complex instructions!

what about HP finding a fix for this.

not being able to use the document feeder is a major issue for many people using the scanning feature on their print

Anyone found this solution to work?  I don't want to waste even more time since this obviously came with update HP Smart 128.1.219.0.

It didn't work for me so not only am I frustrated at having gone through the steps without a good result, like the others I'm back to having to use the scanner glass only which is time consuming for the amount of scanning that I do. Surely HP has received enough complaints by now that they should be working on an app fix, especially since they've put up an iron curtain to prevent all attempts to get support. In this day and age of big tech competition one would think they'd learn from [for instance] Apple.

It did not work for me.

A tech spent an hour with me and tried to fix this remotely. After doing everything she thought would fix this and lots of time, it did not fix the problem at hand. Time to switch printer companies, maybe? Thwy did try but you would think they would tr to find out what is the problem they caused by infecting our software to a point that it disables a feature part of our machines.

This is what a tech did to no avail during a support call.
