Officejet Pro 8620

I have an Officejet Pro 8620.

I can scan if I go on my computer and go to the printer, choose scanning, save as pdf, and click scan.

But I want to go to the printer, and give commands from the touch screen, as I've been doing.

Yesterday it worked.  Now I get the message No Computer Found.

I restarted the printer.

I scanned from the computer, I printed from the computer.... how can it not find the computer?

I've been using it everyday and I did nothing different since yesterday.

I tried the Print and scan doctor.... it scans from the computer... I knew that.

why can't it find the computer and how do I fix?

thank you so much!

Thanks for reporting the issue.

I suspect the scan to computer in your PC might have been disabled.

To enable that, go to Windows Start Menu

Start->Programs->HP 8620 software , click Scanner Actions, click Manage Scan to Computer, and then click Enable.

Restart the PC and Printer. Wait for a minute.

Now you should be able to scan from control panel

Cheers

Such a simple solution... restart the printer AND the computer!

Why didn't I think of that?

thanks so much!
