Hi @Gypsy1of4,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems that you're facing an issue where you cannot scan from your HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 to your Mac running macOS 15.2 (Sequoia). HP does support scanning to a computer on macOS, but there can be compatibility issues with certain versions of macOS or specific printer drivers.

Here are a few steps to troubleshoot:

Check HP Software Installation

Ensure that you have installed the full HP software suite, which includes the HP Easy Scan application, for scanning functionality. You can download it from HP's support website. Make sure the software is up-to-date.

Reset Printing System

Sometimes resetting the print system can resolve scanning issues. To do this:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Right-click (or Control-click) on the printer list and choose Reset printing system.
  • Re-add the printer afterward and try scanning again.

Check the Scan Settings

  • Open Preview or Image Capture on your Mac.
  • Select your HP printer and ensure that the correct scan settings are selected (e.g., type of document, resolution).
  • If your printer appears in these apps, try scanning from there.

Reinstall the Printer Drivers

  • Uninstall any existing HP drivers from System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Download the latest drivers from HP's support page for the OfficeJet Pro 8720.
  • Reinstall the drivers and try again.

Check for macOS Updates

Ensure that your macOS is fully updated, as updates can resolve compatibility issues with third-party drivers and apps.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
