When I try to scan from the printer, "Scan to computer" isn't even an option. I've seen a few suggestions to "double click the printer icon" and turn on "Scan to computer" but I can't find this.

Welcome to the HP Support Community

Follow the below instruction to enable scan to computer.

Search for your printer model name, and double click the printer name. HP Printer Assistant opens.

You can also enable scan to computer from EWS page of the printer.

  • Open your browser
  • Enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar
  • Select the Security tab
  • Select the Administrator Settings tab

Good morning and thank you for your response. I've "fixed" this myself by  reinstalling the printer for the umpteenth time, but installing it as a wireless printer with a Static IP. Now it actually shows "Scan to Computer" as an option on the printer.

I still could not find this option with the HP software. Here is what i see when i double-click the printer name:

Basically... i have no idea what's going on, but thank you for your attempt to help. Have a good day
