I would like to help

 

Please perform a Reset

 

- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and from the wall outlet or power strip.

- Wait at least 60 seconds.

- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to a wall outlet.

- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

- Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

- The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

 

Next ensure the printer has the latest Firmware https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16

 

If the issue persists please restore the printer back and set it up again

 

1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch ( Setup ). 2. Touch Printer Maintenance . 3. Touch Restore. 4. Touch Restore Factory Defaults. A message appears stating that the factory defaults will be restored. 5. Touch Continue.

none of this makes sense to me , im actually at the end of my tether with this printer so much so im may take a large hammer to it , ive spent more time frigging about with it than i have with any printer ive had over 20 years

Can you clarify the issue a little please. Does it try to feed and fails after trying to pick the paper or does it do nothing at all. These are two completely different problems with different solutions.

When feedings paper into the feeder it says paper installed but scans from glass not feeder
