Some years ago I needed to scan documents to a realtor.  I no longer need that address stored in my printer.  How can I delete it?

Hi @Elliot_NJ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To delete a stored email address from your HP OfficeJet 5742 E-All-In-One printer, follow these steps:

Using the Printer's Control Panel

Turn on the Printer: Ensure your printer is turned on and connected to your network.

Access the Control Panel: On the printer's touchscreen, navigate to the home screen.

Open the Scan Menu:

  • Touch the Scan icon or option on the home screen.

Select Email Options:

  • Choose the Email option from the scan menu.

Manage Email Addresses:

  • Look for an option like Manage Email Addresses, Email Settings, or Address Book. This option allows you to add or delete stored email addresses.

Delete the Email Address:

  • Find the email address you want to delete from the list of stored addresses.
  • Select the email address and look for an option to Delete or Remove it.
  • Confirm the deletion when prompted.

Using the HP Smart App

Open HP Smart: Launch the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device. Ensure you are connected to the same network as your printer.

Select Your Printer: If your printer is not already selected, choose it from the list of available devices.

Access Email Settings:

  • Navigate to Printer Settings or Advanced Settings in the HP Smart app.
  • Look for an option related to Email Settings or Scan to Email.

Manage Email Addresses:

  • Find the section that lists stored email addresses.
  • Select the email address you wish to delete.
  • Delete the email address and confirm the action when prompted.

Using the Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Open a Web Browser: On your computer, open a web browser.

Enter the Printer's IP Address:

  • Enter the IP address of your printer into the browser's address bar and press Enter. You can find the IP address on the printer's display under network settings.
  • Example: http://192.168.1.100

Log In: If prompted, log in with the printer's administrator credentials.

Navigate to Email Settings:

  • In the EWS interface, look for a tab or section related to Scan or Email settings.

Manage Stored Email Addresses:

  • Find the stored email addresses in the email settings section.
  • Select the email address you want to delete and remove it from the list.
  • Save your changes.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
