envy 5055 won't scan

Just installed this printer.  printer and copier work.  Try to scan using HP smart software and it says it can't connect.  Printer is connected on network.  Tried updating software still doesn't work.  Scan doctor didn't fix.

Can you try to use the FULL featured software?

Download the HP FULL featured software from here.

Go to Software - Utility and download and install the "HP ENVY 5000 All-in-One Print and Scan Driver and Accessories".

Watch this resource on how to scan multiple pages.

Hello i have the same problem.  All I’m trying to do is scan a document from the printer to email, and when i touch “scan” it tells me i need to download software - where?  Why?  I’m connected to my WiFi network and every other printer I’ve had simply lets you scan a doc to your email.

You may either setup 'scan to email' feature from the printer EWS page or the printer software.

Click here to download the HP Full-featured driver.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

To know how to setup 'scan to email', refer to this document. (applies to your printer model)
