this is the message I have received please help?

the printer's fax component has become damaged and cannot perform the fax test.  for more information, contact HP support

@moreebrown, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

The error message indicates that the fax component on the printer has gone bad. This is a hardware failure. This could happen if there was a power surge at your place. You may still use the printer to print or scan, but not for fax.

 

Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
