Product: Scanjet 4850
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Had problem with scanning and software on my Scanjet 4850. Uninstalled old software to attempt an installation of current Scanjet 4850 drivers. Well the drivers from HP website won't install. Any suggestions on how to get any software that will work on my computer and scanner ?

Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Support Community.

 

Can try this standalone scan software:

(it may or may not work)

 

HP Scan Extended

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/scanners/HPScanExt/HPScanExt.msi

Once it's downloaded and installed, go to Start > All Programs > HP > HP Scan Extended > Run "HP Scan Extended"

 

Else, try a 3rd party software (VueScan):
