I tried scanning a document and everytime it scans all I get are colored horizontal lines. I took a lint free cloth and tried to clean the glass of the scanner but it continues to do the same thing. Can anyone help as of course the warranty has expired. is the scanning bed bad?

Can you try a copy job and help us confirm that the output is also showing the exact same lines as a scan?

 

If it is, it's likely that the scanner is defective.

Yes it does the same thing with the lines when I do a scan to print. This is frustrating haven't even owned this printer 2 years and it is 6 months out of warranty.  Think I might be done with HP products as I cant even contact them for support to find out about an authorized service repair center for it.

Thanks for confirming that the copy is also seeing the same defect. 

 

It's likely that the scanner is defective.
