how can I get my Officejet 6600 to scan from my MacBook Air ? Recent update in software!

I see that you're trying to scan from your MacBook Air after a recent update in the software, you can try the steps below and see if that helps-

Update HP Easy Scan

Open HP Easy Scan. On the upper bar, click HP Easy Scan, click Check for Updates, and then install any available updates.

Update the printer firmware

Download available firmware updates from the HP website

With the printer on and connected to the computer, go to HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads, and then identify your printer. Look for and install any available firmware updates. Refer to the document HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

I Opened HP Easy Scan and clicked Check for Updates, and then install, my computer said to rename or move HP easy scan from my Applications folder, because I already had the Easy Scan App, and try to down load again,

Im not sure what that means, or how to do that.

Follow the steps below to remove the HP Easy Scan Application-

Open the Applications folder in the Finder (if it doesn't appear in the sidebar, go to the Menu Bar, open the “Go” menu, and select Applications in the list), search for HP Easy Scan application by typing its name in the search field, and then drag it to the Trash (in the dock) to begin the uninstall process. Right-click on the Trash in the dock and choose Empty Trash.

Download and install the HP Easy Scan app from the App Store.
