how do I disable ecm in deskjet 3835

I keep getting error code 351 when I try to fax lately.  I saw that I need to disable ecm.  I cannot find the way to do it. Please advise.  Thank you.

Your User Guide provides the answer, Chapter 6, Page 56:

To change the ECM setting from the control panel
1. From the Home screen, touch Fax.
2. Touch Setup.
3. Touch Preferences.
4. Scroll to Error Correction Mode and touch it to turn the feature on or off.
