The following is for printing a PDF file that contains the image / content you want to print at scale.  The procedure assumes your content (PDF file) is at scale, that is, the size of the document matches the size of the Image you want to print.

NOTEIf you are looking to scan in an image (from a piece of paper), capture the boundaries of that image, save the image and then print at (a different) scale, the process is different.   The Scan and Print procedure might actually work better for you depending on what kind of output you seek and the methods your content requires.  (I apologise for the wordiness - I am still a bit unclear of the details / content you are using as a starting point.)

Print PDF

Reinstall / Update your PDF Reader (Adobe Reader DC / Foxit Reader)

  • HINT: Watch out for and UNCHECK unwanted extra software

Example - Adobe Reader

Open the PDF file in Adobe Reader DC

Under Page Sizing & Handling

Select Actual size to check the original "document size" (shows up on the right side above the image / content)

Select Custom Scale = 171% (or as desired)

Select other options as needed (including Properties to select paper type / source)

Click Print

General Example - Preparations

Created Word document of tiny photo, set paper size close to image size

Saved as a PDF file

Open PDF file and set to print

NOTE:  Your original document size is different from the example.

Reminder:  Print, Scan, and Copy are separate and different commands.

What are you trying to print?

Image?

Document?

Is the image / document saved on the computer?

What is the image / document file type, that is, what KIND of image / document?

.PDF

.docx

.jpg

??

What software are you trying to use to view / submit the job to the printer?

Will the image / document fit on paper supported on printer when scaled to 171%?
