cannot reduce the size of document during photocopy from A4 size to A5. If use the reduce size function, it needs to put in a A4 size paper to print out. If put in a A5 paper, it shows error message.

Hi @CKK1, I am the @Chimney_83. It looks like you were interacting with @A4Apollo, but he is out of the office today so I'll take over from here.
Thanks for the reply and providing more information.
If you have selected A5 as the paper size in copy paper settings as mentioned on page number 126 of the manual.
I would recommend you scan the document to your computer and print it from your computer by selecting A5 as the paper size in the print settings.
Hope this helped.

Hi! @CKK1, Thanks for stopping by HP forums!
I understand when you are trying to copy from A4 to A5 using the size function your printer shows an error message.
Don't worry I'll try to help you out.
Did you make any changes to your printer?
I have checked the printer settings according to the records. You have to go to printer control panel and change the paper size to A4 under copy settings on your printer.
One of the options should be custom, which will allow you to change the percentage.
Refer the printer user guide for more information.
Note: Refer page 126.
Let me know if this helps!
Have a great day ahead! 🙂

Thanks for your prompt reply but I have to say that I still cannot solve my problem.
Maybe I am not clarify my problem clearly. I can resize my photocopy from A4 to A5 size but just can only print it out in A4 paper only. Once I put in a A5 paper either in tray 1 or 2, only part of document was printed out and error saying wrong paper size. Can I use a A5 size paper to print out a full size A4 document?
