Hi @jsaxon
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
Here’s how you can scan to your computer on both Windows and Mac:
For Windows
Ensure Your Scanner is Connected
- If using USB, plug it into your computer.
- If using Wi-Fi, ensure the scanner is on the same network as your PC.
Open Windows Scan App
- Press Win + S, type Windows Scan, and open the app.
- If you don’t have it, download it from the Microsoft Store.
Select Your Scanner
- Choose your scanner from the list.
- Set the file type (JPEG, PNG, PDF) and resolution.
Place Your Document
- Put the document face down on the scanner glass.
- If using an ADF (Automatic Document Feeder), insert multiple pages.
Scan and Save
- Click Scan and wait for the process to complete.
- The scanned file will be saved in your Pictures > Scans folder.
For Mac
Ensure Your Scanner is Connected
- Go to System Settings → Printers & Scanners.
- Ensure your scanner is listed and connected.
Open Image Capture
- Press Cmd + Space, type Image Capture, and open it.
Select Your Scanner
- Choose your scanner from the left panel.
- Set the file format (JPEG, PNG, PDF) and resolution.
Place Your Document
- Position the document face down on the scanner glass.
Scan and Save
- Click Scan and choose where to save the file.
