I understand how frustrating it can be when your computer isn’t showing up while trying to scan. Let’s go through some steps to get this sorted out.
Check HP Software & Connection
- Ensure HP Smart or HP Full Feature Software is installed on your computer. If not, you can download it from HP’s official website.
- If using Wi-Fi, make sure your printer and computer are connected to the same network.
- If using USB, try reconnecting the cable and using a different port.
Enable Scan to Computer
- Open HP Printer Assistant (Windows):
- Search for HP in the Start menu and open HP Printer Assistant.
- Click Scan > Manage Scan to Computer and make sure it’s enabled.
Restart Devices
- Restart both your printer and computer to refresh the connection.
Check Windows Services (For Windows Users)
- Press Win + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter.
- Find Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) and make sure it's Running and set to Automatic.
