@Stella3777, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.
I'd be happy to help you get the scan feature working on your HP Smart Tank 7602 All-in-One printer.
You can scan documents or photos using the HP Smart app or the newer HP app (if available in your region). Here's how:
Option 1: Using the HP Smart App
Download & Install HP Smart:
- Go to 123.hp.com and search for your printer model.
- Download and install the HP Smart app for Windows 11.
Open HP Smart and Add Your Printer:
- Launch the app and click “Add Printer” if it’s not already listed.
- Follow the prompts to connect your printer via Wi-Fi or USB.
Start a Scan:
- Click the “Scan” tile.
- Choose “Scanner Glass” or “Document Feeder” depending on where you placed your original.
- Adjust settings like resolution, color, and file type (PDF, JPEG, etc.).
- Click “Scan” to begin.
Save or Share:
- After scanning, you can save, share, or fax the file.
- You can also scan multiple pages into a single PDF.

Option 2: Using the HP App (Newer Alternative)
If available in your region, HP recommends using the HP app, which replaces HP Smart.
- Visit 123.hp.com and search for your printer.
- If the HP app is listed, install it instead of HP Smart.
- Follow similar steps as above to scan and manage documents.

Troubleshooting Tips
- Ensure your printer is connected and online.
- Place the document face-down on the scanner glass or use the ADF for multi-page scans.
- If the scan tile is missing in HP Smart, try reinstalling the app or updating printer firmware.
I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.
Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
