i can only scan and save 1 document at a time on my 7200e  i have windows 8.1 and it will not download the software

If you're only able to scan and save one document at a time on your HP Envy Inspire 7200e and you're having trouble downloading the software to update, here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Check USB/Network Connection

  • Ensure that your printer is properly connected to your computer, either via USB or Wi-Fi. A poor connection can cause issues with scanning.

2. Use the HP Smart App

  • If you haven't already, download and install the HP Smart app. This app often provides better scanning functionality:
    1. Go to the Microsoft Store and search for HP Smart.
    2. Install the app and try scanning from there.

3. Download HP Software

  • If you're having trouble downloading the software, ensure that you have a stable internet connection and follow these steps:
    1. Visit the HP Support website.
    2. Enter your printer model (Envy Inspire 7200e) and go to the software and drivers section.
    3. Select your operating system (Windows 8.1) and look for the full driver package.
    4. Download the software, and ensure to run it as an administrator (right-click the installer and select Run as administrator).

4. Uninstall Previous Software

  • If there’s an existing HP software that may be interfering, uninstall it:
    1. Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features.
    2. Find any HP software, right-click, and select Uninstall.
    3. Restart your computer, then try downloading and installing the HP software again.

5. Check Windows Features

  • Ensure that Windows is updated:
    1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
    2. Check for updates and install any pending updates.

6. Scan Using Windows Fax and Scan

  • As a temporary workaround, you can try using the built-in Windows Fax and Scan tool:
    1. Open Windows Fax and Scan from the Start menu.
    2. Click New Scan and follow the prompts to scan your document.

7. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • This is a diagnostic tool that can help resolve scanning issues:
    1. Download HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP website.
    2. Run the tool and follow the instructions to diagnose and fix issues.
