It sounds like your HP Ink Tank Wireless 410 printer's copy function is not working correctly, even though scanning and printing via the HP Smart app work fine. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Please check the following:

  1. Check the Scanner Glass & Lid – Ensure the document is placed correctly on the scanner glass and the lid is properly closed.
  2. Clean the Scanner Glass – Dust or smudges on the scanner glass can cause issues. Clean it with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Reset the Printer:

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Wait for 2-3 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  3. Try copying again.

Check Copy Settings:

  1. Make sure you are selecting the correct copy settings (e.g., black & white or color).
  2. Try adjusting the contrast settings from the printer panel if available.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  1. With the printer on, disconnect the power cord from the printer and the wall socket.
  2. Wait for about 60 seconds.
  3. Plug the power cord back in and turn the printer on.

Reinstall the Printer Drivers:

  1. Uninstall the HP printer software from your computer.
  2. Download the latest drivers from HP official website and reinstall them.

Let me know if this works!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

I tried all the above method and it is still copying slow. Printing is OK. Scanning and copying is slow

If I scan using the smart app ,it prints normally and fast. If I use the machine control it first produces a blank, then very slowly prints next tume

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your Copy Function Issues on HP Wireless 410 Ink Tank Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It seems you're encountering issues with the copy function of your HP Wireless 410 Ink Tank Printer, where blank sheets are produced, and copying happens very slowly. Here are steps to troubleshoot and resolve this:

Check the Scanner Glass and ADF:

  • Ensure that the original document is placed face down on the scanner glass correctly.
  • If using the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF), be sure the document is fed properly.

Clean the Scanner Glass and ADF:

  • Dust and smudges on the scanner glass can cause blank copies. Carefully clean the scanner glass and ADF using a lint-free cloth slightly moistened with water.

Restart the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Wait for about a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes resolve copying issues.

Copy in Draft Mode:

  • To improve copying speed, try setting the printer to "Draft" mode through the control panel or printer settings.

Firmware Update:

  • Verify that the printer firmware is up to date. Sometimes, issues are resolved with the latest firmware updates.

Diagnostics and Tests:

  • Run printer diagnostics again to check for any issues that might not have been detected previously.

Since the HP Smart app scanning and printing works correctly, you can use the app as a workaround. Here's how to efficiently use the app:

Scan Using HP Smart App:

  • Open the HP Smart app, use the scan function.
  • Place the document on the scanner, follow the on-screen instructions to scan.

Printing:

  • After scanning the document, print directly from the app.
  • This will ensure that the copied document is printed without issues.

If after these steps the problem persists, it might be a hardware issue.

Take care, and have an amazing day!

The scanning and printing through hp smart is happening normally. Only when i copy the problem arises.

@Rajrk432, Thanks for getting back to us!

From what you've described, it sounds like the issue is isolated to the hardware-based copy function (via the control panel), while software-based scanning and printing (via HP Smart app) are working smoothly. This suggests that the issue might be with the scanner lamp or internal scanner alignment rather than the print system itself.

Here are a few more things we can check together:

Clean the Scanner Glass Thoroughly

Even a small smudge or dust particle can interfere with the copy function.

Power off the printer.

Gently clean the scanner glass and the white strip on the underside of the scanner lid using a soft, lint-free cloth lightly moistened with glass cleaner (do not spray directly onto the glass).

Dry it with another soft cloth and power the printer back on.

Try a Basic Copy Test (Black & Color)

Try placing a simple, clear black-and-white text document on the scanner glass and press the Black copy button. Repeat with the Color button too.
Let us know:

Does it still print blank?

Does it still lag significantly?

Reset the Printer

Sometimes a basic reset can clear out any temporary glitches.

With the printer ON, unplug the power cord from the back.

Wait for 60 seconds.

Plug it back in and turn the printer on.
Now try a copy again directly from the machine.

Check Scanner Bulb/Light

While trying to copy, observe if the scanner light turns on and moves. If the light doesn’t come on or if there’s hesitation or flickering, it could point to a scanner hardware fault.

If you’ve already tried all of the above and the issue still persists (producing blank or extremely slow copies only through the machine), then this may likely be a hardware-related issue with the scanning unit inside the printer.

Since scanning works fine through the HP Smart app, that’s a great temporary workaround — but for a permanent fix, we might need to look into service options.
