Hi @Macktruck,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your newly installed HP OfficeJet Pro 9120e doesn't appear as an option in the print destination list, it could be due to incomplete installation, connection issues, or missing drivers. Here's how to resolve the issue:

Step 1: Verify Installation

  1. Check Printer Setup:
    • Make sure the printer is turned on and connected to the same network as your computer (via WiFi or Ethernet).
    • Confirm the printer's network status on its control panel (usually under Settings > Network Settings).
  2. Reinstall Printer Drivers:
    • Download and install the latest drivers for the OfficeJet Pro 9120e from HP's website.
    • Use the full-feature driver or HP Smart app for proper setup.

Step 2: Add Printer to the Computer

Windows:

  • Open Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Click Add a Printer or Scanner and wait for your printer to appear in the list.
  • If it doesn’t, select The printer that I want isn’t listed, then choose Add a printer using TCP/IP address or hostname.
  • Enter your printer's IP address (found on the printer’s control panel or network settings page).

Mac:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Click the + button to add the printer.
  • If the printer doesn’t show, select IP and enter the printer's IP address.

Step 3: Verify Default Printer Settings

  1. Open your print dialog (e.g., from a Word document).
  2. Ensure the OfficeJet Pro 9120e is selected in the Printer drop-down menu. If not:
    • Choose Manage Printers and set it as the default.

Step 4: Test the Printer

  • Print a test page to ensure functionality.
  • If it doesn’t work, check for any error messages on the printer or computer.

If the Issue Persists

Network Troubleshooting:

  • Restart your router and printer.
  • Disable the firewall or antivirus software temporarily to ensure they aren't blocking the connection.

Uninstall and Reinstall the Printer:

  • Remove the printer from your computer's settings.
  • Reinstall it using the HP Smart app.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
