no option to duplex scan ADF MFP 3301 only manual option

We have the HP scan software, but the scan options only have 2 sided manual. we want to auto feed 2 sided scannig from the document tray. the printer specs say it is available..

This printer does not have a duplexer for scanning.

Thanks, We double checked the spec's for the unit and it has:

Duplex ADF scanning

Yes

Which i assumed meant it would do duplex on the auto document feeder and it's why we purchased the printer

Please provide a photo of your ADF here,  upload here, click on the icon "Insert photos", "Set format = Large", original size at least 200 KB.

Please read the PDF file carefully. It only says “Duplex ADF scanning” = Yes.

Otherwise, it would say “Automatic double-sided scanner” = Yes.
Or, see Printing: “Duplex printing = Automatic.”
And for scanning, it should say: “Duplex scanning = Automatic.”

Since you have already installed the HP Scan software, “manual scanning” is available to you. This means that 5 double-sided sheets are scanned, manually reinserted into the top of the ADF without turning the sheets, and the backs are scanned.
The HP Scan software does the rest automatically.
