Have been using the scanner for a few months. Now it will not recognize the scanner. I have reinstalled the software, but no good. Keep getting an error when I try to scan from the HP print and scan app on my windows 10 PC of "The device cannot apply the scan settings you have entered. Please change the settings and try again. In addition, verify that the scan feature is enabled." Before reinstalling the software, it would not even recognize the scanner. I have not changed any settings on the scanner. I also cannot find where to change the settings. When I run the HP print and scan doctor, the fix scan will run until the "windows (WIA) scan" and then it freezes. I have left it for an entire day and still get nowhere. I guess the most aggravating part is that I bought this printer because the previous one did exactly the same thing and could not get it fixed. Is it a windows issue or did I buy another POS?

Hi,

Can you try to  Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software following these steps:

1. Uninstall the software in your computer
2. Download and save the FULL feature software (do not install it online)

 

The following resource will help you :

http://123.hp.com/us/en/

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.

3. Install the FULL feature “Saved” software

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

Using Windows 10, don't know if it is 32 or 64 bit. Scanner was acting up before the most recent update.
