Hi @gastonrey,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your PC is unable to find the scanner on your HP OfficeJet Pro 7720 Wide Format All-In-One Printer, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try.
- Check the connection: Ensure that the USB cable or network cable is securely connected between the printer and your PC. If you are using a network connection, make sure your PC is connected to the same network as the printer.
- Restart the printer and PC: Sometimes, restarting the printer and PC can help resolve communication issues. Turn off both the devices, unplug them from the power source, wait for a minute or two, and then plug them back in and turn them on.
- Update the printer driver: Check if you have the latest driver for your printer installed on your PC. You can download the latest driver from the HP website and install it on your PC.
- Check the scanner settings: Check if the scanner settings on your PC are correctly configured to communicate with the printer. Open the Control Panel on your PC and navigate to Devices and Printers. Right-click on your printer and select Properties. Click on the Hardware tab and click on Properties. Under General, make sure the device status is "Working properly."
- Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor: The HP Print and Scan Doctor is a free tool from HP that can help diagnose and resolve common printing and scanning issues. You can download and run this tool on your PC to troubleshoot the issue.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
