Plugged in USB and scanned one item. Went to scan the next item and it no longer recognizes the USB drive. When I pulled out the USB drive and plugged it in, it recognized it, but after naming the item and taping scan, I got "Memory Device Problem The memory device was not found." Other USB drives work normally. Any suggestion? (It's a brand new 2 TB drive).

Hi @sarahstout02,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I'd like to help!
I understand you are trying to scan to a USB drive.
To assist better - Have you tried using a different USB drive?
Follow the instructions to Scan to a USB flash drive
Load the document on the scanner glass or into the document feeder according to the indicators on the printer.
Insert a USB flash drive into the walk-up USB port.
The USB Flash Drive menu opens with the following options:
Print Documents
View and Print Photos
Scan to USB Drive
Select Scan to USB Drive.
When the summary screen opens, the following settings can be adjusted:
Scan File Type
Scan Resolution
Scan Paper Size
Scan Source
File Name Prefix
Output Color
Touch the Scan button to scan and save the file.
The printer creates a folder named HPSCANS on the USB drive, and it saves the file in .PDF or .JPG format using an automatically generated file name.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
