Hi @keys72,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy 600 All-in-One series printer prints correctly but gives out black paper when copying, there could be a few issues causing this. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem.

Check the Scanner Glass:

  • Make sure the scanner glass is clean. Dust or smudges on the glass can affect the quality of the copies.
  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth and a mild glass cleaner to clean the scanner glass. Avoid spraying the cleaner directly on the glass; instead, spray it on the cloth and then wipe the glass.

Check the Document Feeder (if applicable):

  • If your model has an automatic document feeder (ADF), ensure it is clean and free of obstructions. Check for any dust, debris, or paper fragments that might be causing the issue.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about a minute before plugging it back in and turning it on. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.

Update Firmware and Drivers:

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware and drivers are up to date. Visit the HP Support website to check for and download any available updates.

Reset the Printer:

  • Resetting the printer to its factory settings can sometimes resolve issues. Refer to your printer’s manual for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.

Perform a Copy Calibration:

  • Some HP printers allow you to calibrate the scanner and copy functions. This option is usually found in the printer’s settings menu. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the calibration.

Check the Print Settings:

  • Ensure that the print settings are not set to produce black pages. Go through the settings on the printer’s control panel to confirm they are correctly configured.

Run a Printer Diagnostic:

  • Most HP printers come with built-in diagnostic tools. Run a diagnostic test to identify and fix any issues. This option can typically be found in the printer’s settings or maintenance menu.

If you have tried all the above steps and the issue persists, there might be a hardware problem with the scanner or the printer's internal components.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
