Hi @kenkirk,

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

I understand that you are facing copy issue.

Don't worry I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Is the printer connected to the wall outlet?

Is thescanner light lit up?

Is the scanner bar moving?

Meanhile, I suggest you do a Hard Reset

 (1) Turn the printer on, if it is not already on.

(2) Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you continue.

(3) With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.

(4) Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

(5) Wait at least 60 seconds.

(6) Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.

NOTE: HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.

(7) Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.

(8) Turn on the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.

The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.

Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Keep me posted, how it goes!

If the information I've provided was helpful.

Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Cheers!

The reset did not solve the problem. I took the print head out and did an advanced cleaning per documentation. The printer sometimes fails the print head alignment tool after the cleaning with a 0.c19a0013 error. The printer won't copy, but will scan documents into the computer. The scanned documents can be printed out from the computer. Print out of pictures is lacking blackness. Black is lacking from the printout when the print alignment tool prints out.  My inclination is to replace the printer since a new printer will probably be cheaper than replacing the printhead....which may not work after doing the replacement. The ink cartridges for this printer are also expensive. What do you say?
