Hi @A_-9,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If your HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2775 All-in-One Printer is no longer showing the “File” button or allowing you to save scans to a folder on macOS 15.0 Sequoia, you're not alone. This issue can happen due to app updates or permission changes in macOS.
Here’s how to fix it: Can’t Save Scans to Folder on macOS 15 (Sequoia)
1. Use HP Smart App (Recommended)
HP now recommends using the HP app for scanning and saving files.
- Download or open the app HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site.
- Select your printer > Tap Scan.
- After scanning, click Save.
- You’ll be prompted to choose a folder; if not, click the gear icon or three dots to access file options.

2. Check macOS Permissions
macOS 15 may block apps from accessing folders:
- Go to System Settings > Privacy & Security > Files and Folders.
- Make sure HP Smart or HP Easy Scan has access to Documents or Downloads.
3. Try HP Easy Scan (Alternative App)
If HP Smart doesn’t show the file option:
- Download HP Easy Scan from the Mac App Store.
- Open the app > Select your printer > Scan.
- After scanning, click Send > Folder to save.

4. Reset HP Smart App (if stuck)
If the app is glitching:
- Quit the app.
- Go to ~/Library/Application Support/HP Smart and delete the folder.
- Reopen the app and re-add your printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have an amazing day!
