scan PDF output

My HP scanner defaults tp PDF output. i do not want PDF. How do I output regular format?

Are you referring to JPEG?

The printer should be able to scan in JPEG format.  Was the FULL feature software installed?

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.

What is a regular format from your point of view?

PDF is a standard docuent file type while other types are intended for photos (single page only) such as JPG or BMP..

What I mean by regular format is, for example, a Word document that can be scanned with the scanned output being in Word format and not PDF format.

I hope I have replied correctly. This is my first time using the Forum. I clicked on the Kudos button and the reply button as well so I hope I'm doing things correctly.

Thanks for clarifying, that is perfectly very helpful:

The software provided for your device does not include OCR functionality
As you may find listed within the Scanning Specification, text files as TXT or RTF are not supported by the HP software:

You may use any 3rd party OCR solution to scan as editable text.

If you have Microsoft Office suite there is a good chance the office suite provide this kind of capabilities:
