for 2 days now I've been trying to scan to google drive from the app/printable/whatever you call it with no success.  when I try "scan and upload" it prompts for filename as normal, and I press scan and it says "now scanning" for a while with no action and ultimately an error saying "There was an error scanning the document. Please try again"

the printer is running the latest firmware and the drive app has worked with this firmware.

for what it's worth, I never actaully got satisfactory resolution even after engaging in tech support from HP.  I returned the printer and purchasedx a brother mfc-l8850cdw and it works wonderfully.  scanning to drive works, is  much faster, easier to set up and higher quality printing.

I just tried the scan to email app (not the built in function of the printer, the eprint one) and that failed in a similar way...

Hi, I just bought an M477fnw, and I'm having this exact same issue.  This is a big problem for us because all of our documents are stored on Google Drive. So we really need this to work, or I'm going to have to return the printer.

I'm a bit concerned that this issue was listed here 6 months ago, and there's no resolution and not even a comment from HP.  :Crying:

@Kasteris

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand you are troubled with the scan to drive app as it seems broken,

I'll be glad to help you out, however, for an accurate solution I will need more details:

What is the product number of your product? Use this link to find it: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03754824

Have you attempted any steps on your own before posting on the HP Forums?

When was the last time it worked without these issues? Have you attempted a system restore?

Which operating system are you using?

In the meantime: trying using this link and let me know if it works: Click here

Please reply with the details for further assistance.

Eager to help!

Is there still no solution to this or should I be returning my printer as well? I'm experiencing this exact issue.

Edit - Updating the software (from the printer) seems to have fixed this problem of not being able to upload to Google Drive.

It might be unrelated, but two sided scanning to Google Drive incorrectly uploads the 2nd side scan upside down (tablet scan mode). The HP Scan app on Windows 10 does the scan correctly, but it lets you choose between book and tablet when scanning... continuing to look for a solution to this
