I have tried all of the different suggested configs for scan to email to be able to use my outlook email address as the sender but it keeps telling me my credentials are invalid. They are correct and I can open email with a browser using them. I'm using the following:
SMTP - smtp.office365.com or smtp-relay.live.com or smtp.live.com or ....
SMTP Port - 587 or 465
Always secure connection is checked
Validate Server cert both ways, checked and unchecked
Help! Please!

The simple answer >
In general, the printer supports SMTP Scan to Email -- the feature should work.
In spite of "all", perhaps something is missing.
?
Not sure whether any of this works with office365 -
I have never tried to use an office365 server to access Scan to Email (or anything else).

Part of the "all the different suggested configs" might require that you use an App Password in place of your regular email password.
What? G-Mail and possibly other email providers have moved to requiring 2-Step verification in their email security.
Part of the change includes having to create and use an App Password for third party apps (Scan to Email).
If you have not done so,

This video will quickly show you how to set up scan to email with an HP printer with G-mail AND keep the 2-Step verification security feature. App Passwords
Set up Scan to Email HP Printer with 2 Step Verification on G-mail and Google
Steps
Log into your Google Account
Open your Google Security Webpage
Next, if not done, Switch ON 2-step verification
Next, Complete the steps to open your mail security settings
and
Create / Select app and (then) create your app password
- At the bottom, choose Select app and choose the app you using > Select device and choose the device you’re using > Generate.
- Follow the instructions to enter the App Password. The App Password is the 16-character code in the yellow bar on your device.
- Tap Done.
Tip: Most of the time, you’ll only have to enter an App Password once per app or device, so don’t worry about memorizing it.
Assign / set that new App Password in your Scan to Email profile as the password.

You are welcome.
Several email providers are moving to 2-step verification -- the offshoot is that yes, you must create and use an App Password (in place of your regular email password) for "third party" applications and software. Scan to Email qualifies as a third party app.
Keep track of the App Password and all is well.

It is just unfortunate that nowhere in the documentation or set up helps. Does it say anything about that kind of a set up with Microsoft or with Google. It would’ve been much easier and quicker to just put those types of instructions in the documentation.
