Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I bought an hp printer a few days ago and I can't get the scan to pc function to work, when I check with scan doctor it crashes every time on twain driver. The printer sees the computer, I can scan from mf scan but I can't do it from the printer with the wsd function. Wsd is enabled in the embedded web server and when I look at the printer properties in the ports I see the printer with wsd enabled.

thanks for your help

@Isablem, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I see that you are not able to scan from the printer to the computer.

Do you have the full-feature printer driver installed on the computer?

Click here to download the HP Full-feature driver.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and follow the on-screen instructions.

Now, open the HP Printer Assistant, go to Scan > Manage scan to computer > On.

Try scanning.

For more info on WSD scanning, refer to page 97 of the User Guide

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

Hi Kumar0307,

thanks for your help, the full feature printer driver is installed on the computer, there's no printer assitant i think for this model instead of the embedded web service where the wds option is activated.  If i look in the user manual in scanning using wsd feature at page 97 i block at step 4 when i selected the pc it returned to step 3 i'm stuck in a loop.

Scanning using the WSD feature

1 Make sure that the machine is connected to your computer and powered on.

2 Place a single document face down on the document glass, or load the documents face up
into the document feeder (see "Loading originals" on page 51).

3 Select (Scan) > Scan to WSD on the control panel.

4 Select your computer name from WSD PC List.

5 Select the option you want and press OK.

6 Scanning begins.

thanks for your help

@Isablem

Did you download and install the driver from the link I have mentioned in my previous post?

The full feature driver will have the option to 'enable scan to computer'.

You may also refer to this document for scan to computer setup(to be used as a reference).
