Starting 4/24/2020 scanned documents won't open.

Before 4/24/2020 - scanned docs came into my email as filename-1.pdf -- from eprintcenter@hp.com

Starting 4/24/2020 - scanned docs come into my email as HPSCAN_20200423231237758 with no extension -- from eprintcenter@hp8.us   

Renaming file with a .pdf doesn't work

Downloaded and reinstalled printer driver - NO change

  • Which application are you using to scan?
  • Are you using the 'Scan to email' app on the printer?

Having exactly the same problem with the same printer.  I am unable to scan and open from the email.  The document will not let me save with a new name.  What is HP doing to fix this issue?

  • Are you able to scan to the computer from the printer?
  • When you scan to email, do you receive the scanned document/email?
  • Are you scanning from the printer control panel or using the software on the computer?

Kindly refer to this document to know how to set up 'scan to email' feature on the printer.

Access the EWS page of the printer and check the scan to email settings.
