Hello @FC59 ,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Here's what you need to do:

  1. Disconnect printer/scanner from computer- Disable WLAN, WiFi and/or remove the USB or LAN cable.- Do not switch off the printer >> unplug the power cord from the socket!
  2. Uninstall HP printer software, and then remove the printer from your Devices list.
  3. Reconnect the printer to the power supply and switch it on (if this does not happen automatically)
  4. Please note: WLAN has to be deactivated!
  5. Restart the PC
  6. Close all programs
  7. download only this complete package: HP Universal Scan - Full Feature Software and Driver
  8. Close all programs
  9. Via USB, means wait until the installation asks to connect the printer/scanner.
  10. Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads double-click on the EXE,
    File name: Full_Webpack-51.10.6100-SJ0001_Full_Webpack.exe (411.2 MB)
  11. The installation was completed successfully, now you must ...
  12. Restart the System again
  13. Now the installation is complete.

Document error messages accurately, even better is to take a screenshot of it and upload here.
