Hi,

Thanks for using the HP Forums.

Please Uninstall and Reinstall the FULL feature software following these steps:

1. Uninstall the software in your computer

2. Download and save the FULL feature software (do not install it online)

The following resource will help you :

http://123.hp.com/us/en/

Key in your printer model, Operating System and download & install the FULL feature software.

3. Install the FULL feature “Saved” software

Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.

If you are not sure how to do this, the following resource will walk you through the steps:

Thanks for advice. I have done all that but no change.  The error light is still flashing and I have noticed that when the cartridge carriage moves it is much noisier, but I can still print, but not copy.  Help

HI,

Would you be able to advise what error light is flashing?  Any patterns on the lights flashing?

What's the condition of teh carridges? Any cartridge that is low on ink?

Some error conditions may  prevent certain functions.

Thanks.

Thanks again for your reply. The flashing light is the exclamation one on the left.  I switched on this morning and got a message saying the colour cartridge was empty.  Would this still allow me to print and not to scan?

HI,

PLease check out this self-help document:

https://support.hp.com/sg-en/document/c03817715

Look under "Attention lights blinking"

Seems that the Output door is cloded or scanning error (as in your case)

Try the resolution provided.

Hope that helps!

I have tried all your clear recommendations to solve my problems, but it looks as if I am at the end of the road, as I am now advised to service the printer.  I think it would probably be just as cheap to buy a new one!  Many thanks for all your help.
