If I understand what you are asking,
When you stand at the printer and try to initiate a scan, you see a message on the printer control panel.
Message = "No computer found"
Usual causes of this issue include:
- You have a supported Windows computer and the full driver printer software is not installed (on the computer)
- The full driver printer software is installed on the computer and might be corrupted
- The full driver printer software is installed and is OK and "Manage Scan to Computer" is not enabled .
OR possibly
- "Manage Scan to Computer" is enabled and is not able to switch to enabled mode. This one can be more difficult to resolve since the processes are managed by the Task Manager -- Aside from making sure Windows Updates are current and installed, reloading the printer software, enabling "Manage Scan to Computer", and Restarting the computer, tasks of this type are generally automated. The newer (more recent) the Operating System / version (and fully Updated OS) and the more stable the connection type, the less likely you will have problems with this type of issue. This issue is likely less common in a newer OS and a decent network environment. Ask if you think this unique set of circumstances applies to your situation.

Printer - Full Feature Software
HP Full Feature Software / Full Driver printer software - supports printing and scanning from the web, printing in in other software and programs (for example, Word), and provides access to the full range of Printing Preferences / Shortcuts. The full driver generally adds at one, possibly least one, possibly two shortcuts to the Desktop: Printer Assistant, HP Scan Assistant, and/or HP Scan.
NOTES:
HP Scan is not installed if the printer does not support Scan.
The Printer Assistant is not installed if the type of full driver software does not support it. If the printer model includes built-in Fax hardware, the software supports the setup and use of the Fax driver. No Sign-in required.
Reinstalling?
- Uninstall existing full driver printer software from Programs and Features.
- If your printer includes a separate "help" in Programs and Features, uninstall that, too.
- Restart the computer and log in.
- If the printer is connected to the computer using a printer USB cable, remove / disconnect the cable before loading the software.

If / When asked, opt for the Full Driver / Full Software to be installed.
After the software is installed, Restart the computer and sign in.

- HP Scan – Shortcut on Desktop named for the printer model
- When installed, HP Universal Scan software adds a separate self-named “HP Scan” shortcut
