Hi @BigTim1960,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the scanner on your HP DeskJet 2755e All-in-One Printer isn't working properly with your computer, here are some steps you can try.
Check Connections:
- Ensure that the printer is properly connected to your computer via USB or Wi-Fi. If using USB, try a different port or cable.
Update Drivers:
- Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers and software for your printer. Install them on your computer.
Restart Devices:
- Restart both your printer and computer to refresh the connection.
Check Scanner Settings:
- Open the HP Smart app or the scanning software on your computer and ensure that the settings are correctly configured for scanning.
Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor from the HP Support website. It can diagnose and fix common issues with HP printers.
Check for Software Updates:
- Make sure your operating system is up to date, as updates can sometimes resolve compatibility issues.
Reset the Printer:
- Perform a factory reset on your printer. Check your printer’s manual or HP’s support site for instructions on how to do this.
Check for Error Messages:
- Look for any error messages on the printer's display or on your computer that might give clues about what’s wrong.
Scan from Another Device:
- Try scanning from another computer or device to determine if the issue is with the printer or your computer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
