@smoco1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

According to the product specifications, this model printer requires macOS 10.11 as a minimum requirement. Kindly update the macOS version on your MAC.

 

Which application are you using to scan?

To know how to scan from your MAC, refer to this document.
