Note: From May 1, 2024, the HP Scan and Capture app will no longer be available (retired) in the Microsoft Store and HP will not release any further app updates. Alternatively, you can download HP Smart from the Microsoft Store. For more information on how to set up your printer using the HP Smart app, go to HP printer setup (HP Smart app).

We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I choose name in address book and hit scan and starts to connect says invalid user name and password. I would think that is the network connection it is talking about but I can print just fine but just for giggles I reset up network connection and it still says this. I downloaded the HP doctor app and ran diagnostics, upgraded the software and still nothing. Anyone have this problem?

Are you trying to scan to email from the printer screen?

  • Kindly try to login to the webmail and check if the credentials you are using are correct. Do not use autofill.
  • Check if you are able to send and receive emails.
  • Do you have a Google account?
  • Have you setup two-factor authentication on the account?

  • Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to obtain the IP address.
  • Type the IP address at the top of your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.
  • If you get any security notification, click on show details/advanced and 'proceed to this website'.
  • Check if you are able to access the scan settings.

If this page is locked, we have to perform a factory reset on the printer.
