Using HP scan, which has always worked great.  Got new computer 2 months ago, and even tho scanner works, it will not save to the computer.  At bottom of finished scan, there is an option for printer or file, and I always send to file.  File is grayed out, so cannot use.   Suggestions?

Please try using HP Easy Scan from the Store, HP Scan is not intended for Big Sur:

https://apps.apple.com/us/app/hp-easy-scan/id967004861?mt=12

 

If you experience further issues, please clarify your printer model to be able to assist you better.

Actually operating on Big Sur 11.14- not Catalina
