Microsoft Windows 11

Just trying to permit my printer to scan documents to my desktop. Have downloaded Full web Pack package and installed. Went through a milli0n offers and screens and still haven't arrived where the scan feature is ready to use. I have had to scan to a USB thumb drive and transfer to my computer. Would like to be able to skip that and scan direct to computer desktop

@VJ1943, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

To scan documents from your HP OfficeJet 9025 printer to your computer desktop, please follow these steps:

Step 1: Connect to the Same Network

Ensure your printer is connected to the same wireless network as your computer:

  1. On printers with a touchscreen control panel, navigate to the Setup, Network, or Wireless menu.
  2. Select Wireless Setup Wizard and follow the instructions to connect the printer to your network.

Step 2: Install the HP Scan Software

Download and install the HP Scan software from HP's official website. This software allows you to manage scan settings effectively:

  1. Choose between the full feature and basic feature drivers. HP recommends the full feature driver, which includes the OCR feature for saving documents as searchable PDFs.
  2. Select Download next to your preferred driver, open the downloaded .exe file, and follow the on-screen prompts to install the software.

Step 3: Enable Scan to Computer

Activate the Scan to Computer setting to make your computer visible on the printer control panel:

  1. Search for and open HP Scan Assistant on your computer.
  2. Click Manage Scan to Computer and select Enable.

Step 4: Set Default Scan Settings

Adjust the file type and other default settings for your scans:

  1. Search for and open HP Scan.
  2. In the Scan Shortcuts menu, select your desired scan file types, such as Save as PDF or Save as JPEG.
  3. After setting your preferences, click the Save icon.

Step 5: Perform the Scan

Now, you are ready to scan:

  1. Place the document on the scanner glass or, if available, in the automatic document feeder (ADF).
  2. On the printer control panel, select Scan and then Scan to Computer.
  3. Choose your computer from the list of available devices.
  4. Select your preferred scan options and hit Send to start the scan.

Your scanned document will be sent to your computer and can be accessed on your desktop.
