When scanning or copying a multi page document, page 1 is only partially scanned or copied with initial part deleted.  Pages 2 and following are OK.

@LewE

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand, your printer scans and copy only partially document,

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

When was the last time it worked fine?

Were there any hardware/software changes made?

Have you tried any troubleshooting steps?

Does this happen only while scanning from Automatic Document Feeder?

Let's try these steps to resolve the issue: Click here

Paper type and size in the input tray that does not match the paper settings for the copy job can result in partial copies.

  1. Reload the paper you are coping on, and make sure the paper width guides are pushed in so they are resting next to the edge of the paper stack.

  2. Touch Copy, Copy Document, or Copy Photo on the printer control panel.

  3. Touch Settings or the gear icon  to access and change the following settings.

NOTE: You might need to scroll down the screen to access all settings.

    • Paper Type: Copy speed can be impacted if photo paper is selected for a plain paper copy job. Select the type of plain or photo paper you are making the copies on.

    • Tray Selection: Select the paper input tray with the paper you are using for your copies.

    • Paper Size: Select the paper size you are making the copies on, or select Automatic to let the printer detect the paper loaded in the tray.

    • Resize or Size: Change the size of the copy. Options can include a list of presets, custom sizes between 25 and 400 percent of the original size, Fit to Page, and an Actual Size setting to make a borderless copy.

  4. Select Save Current Settings or Set as New Defaults to retain the settings for future copy jobs.

  5. Load the original document or photo, and then start a copy job.

Let me know how this goes,

Cheers!
