HP ENVY 4527 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

I have an HP envy printer scanner which should let me scan to my laptop using the printer control panel.

It is currently setup to send the scans to a diferent laptop.

How do i change it to send the scans to my current laptop?

@Westcott, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To change the scan destination on your HP ENVY 4527 All-in-One Printer so that it sends scans to your current laptop instead of the previous one, follow these steps:

Step 1: Install HP Software (If Not Installed)

Ensure that you have HP Smart or HP Full Feature Software and Drivers installed on your Windows 11 laptop.

Step 2: Remove the Old Scan Destination

  1. On your printer control panel, tap Scan or Scan to Computer.
  2. If it lists an old laptop, select it and look for an option to remove or change it.
  3. If there’s no direct option, you will need to change the settings in the HP software.

Step 3: Enable Scan to Computer on Your Current Laptop

  1. Open HP Smart (or HP Printer Assistant if you installed the full software).
  2. Go to Printer Settings > Scan Settings.
  3. Find and enable Scan to Computer.
  4. Make sure your current laptop name appears and is selected as the default destination.

Step 4: Test the Scan

  1. On the printer control panel, select Scan to Computer.
  2. Your current laptop should now appear.
  3. If it works, you’re all set!

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
