How do perform a semi-full reset on my HP Envy 7100 series printer?  I am unable to scan from or to any PC in the house.  Printing and copying are OK.  Printer status reports 'unknown'.  Print and scan doctor doesn't help it.  HP Smart doesn't fix it. Shutdown/ power off/unplug from wall / wait 60 seconds doesn't fix it.  The problem is with the printer, since all PC's are affected the same way.

Before we perform a semi full reset on the printer , could you brief me on the issue?

Do you receive any error when you try and scan?

Have installed the full featured drivers on the computer?

I would say that the problem can also rely on the network, as all PC's are affected the same way and use the same network, any printer problem will also be affected for copying.

 

Print and evaluate a wireless test report.

 

From the wireless menu select Settings (gear icon) and then Print Reports and look for a Wireless Test Report.

 

If you cannot see it there go to Setup > Reports and look for a Wireless Test Report there,

 

Can you see any alert or attention listed by the printed report?
