sharing scanner over network laserjet m1212nf mfp

Hello,

Is it possible to share a scanner on a network? I have a all in one printer/scanner on our network, the printing function works perfectly from all of the network computers.  The scanner is at our front desk where we now have 2 computers. I would like to be able to not only print but scan from both computers. Again the printing function is working fine from both computers and the scan function works perfectly from the computer directly wired to the printer/scanner but I cannot figure out a way to be able to scan from both computers.

Hi,

Windows offers  File and Print sharing only, it do not offer any scan share capabilities and a USB connected device can only be used on a single PC for sharing and faxing..

To get all capabilities on multiple computers you ust install the device through a network connection.

You may connect an Ethernet cable from the printer to your router, then you may install the printer software on multiple PCs and get all fuctionality available on multiple PCs as desctibed below:
