Common problems HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to scan
We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.
HP Recommended

I use an HP officejet 4652 printer. If I scan to pc by using the touchscreen on the printer a communication error appears (no comminication to pc, activate the scan function). However, all functions printing, scanning etc work when executed from the HP smart app. The driver software has been updated and should be latest status.

Anybody out there who has a solution to the problem?

Hi @urs2711,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like the "Scan to PC" option isn't working directly from the touchscreen, but it functions through the HP Smart app. Since the driver software is up-to-date, here are a few troubleshooting steps to try.

Ensure Scan to PC is Enabled:

  • Open the HP Printer Assistant (or HP Smart app).
  • Go to Scan > Manage Scan to Computer.
  • Ensure Enable Scan to Computer is checked.
  • If it's already enabled, try disabling it and then re-enabling it.

Check the Printer and PC Connection:

  • Ensure that both the printer and PC are on the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Try restarting both the printer and your PC to reset any potential network issues.

Set the Default Printer:

  • In your PC's Devices and Printers settings, make sure that your HP OfficeJet 4652 is set as the default printer. Sometimes, having multiple printers set can cause communication issues.

Firewall or Security Software:

  • Check if any firewall or security software on your PC is blocking communication with the printer. Temporarily disable the firewall or security software and try again.

Reinstall Printer Drivers:

  • Uninstall the printer from your PC and then reinstall the printer drivers and software.
  • Use the latest driver version from the HP support page.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Sometimes, a firmware update can resolve issues. Check if there's a firmware update available for your OfficeJet 4652 on the HP support website or through the HP Smart app.

Try Another USB Cable (if connected via USB):

  • If the printer is connected via USB, try using a different USB cable or port to rule out a physical connection issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
