Hi @DKW1972,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot the connectivity issue with your HP Laserjet Pro MFP M148dw.

Check the Connection:

  • Ensure that the printer is properly connected to the network or computer. If using Wi-Fi, verify that the printer is connected to the correct network.
  • If connected via USB, ensure the cable is securely plugged in both the printer and the computer.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off the printer, computer, and router (if using Wi-Fi). Wait for a few seconds and then turn them back on.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Go to the HP support website and download the latest drivers for your printer model. Install them on your computer.

Check for Network Issues:

  • Ensure that there are no network issues. Try accessing other devices on the same network to see if they are working correctly.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

  • HP provides a diagnostic tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor. Download and run this tool to identify and fix issues with the printer.

Check Printer Settings:

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to the network settings and ensure everything is configured correctly.

Firewall/Security Software:

  • Sometimes, firewall or security software can block the connection. Temporarily disable them to see if that resolves the issue.

Check IP Address:

  • Make sure that the printer’s IP address hasn’t changed. If it has, update the printer settings on your computer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
