unable to manually scan duplex via HP Easy Scan on M281fdw

Hi,

The Easy Scan software is no longer facilitating manual duplex scanning on my Laserjet M281fdw. I have been searching for hours but am unable to find a solution...Thanks for helping me out!

@Christopher58, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

 

I understand you are not able to scan both sides from your MAC. This printer does not support auto-duplex scanning and hence this option is not available on the HP Easy Scan app. You may refer to printer specifications

 

Let us try these steps:

 

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your MAC.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Also, check for any software updates on MAC

Click the Apple icon > About This Mac > Software Update and install any available update.

 

From the HP Easy Scan app select your scanner, then click the Presets menu and click on Edit Settings.

Change the Scan Type to Document, select the source and check the bottom box of Scan both sides of page (if available)

Note: This printer does not support auto-duplex scanning. The page has to be flipped manually.
