@4849, Welcome to HP Support Community!
Follow the steps below-
Go to Allowing less secure apps to access your account (in English), and then follow the on-screen instructions.
Refer to the document HP Printers - Scan to Email Cannot Access Email Accounts for details.
I hope that answers your concern adequately. Let me know!

I realize that i changed my gmail password 2 weeks ago; would this impact scanning to email from the printer screen?
I went here https://192.168.7.37/#hId-pgEmailSetup and tried to complete the server user name and password, but the test email did not work.
How do i find out the user name and password on my imac?
User name: i went to preferences and sharing and found the computer name and entered that as the user.
Password: i tried my gmail password and the administrator password for my mac. neither worked.
Help!!
