Hi @Mipaula,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP DeskJet 2755e is only saving scanned documents as PNG files and you want to save them as PDF files, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

1. Use HP Smart App

Open HP Smart App:

  • Ensure you have the HP Smart app installed on your computer or mobile device. If not, download and install it from the HP Smart website or your device’s app store.

Select Your Printer:

  • Open the HP Smart app and select your HP DeskJet 2755e printer.

Scan Document:

  • Click on Scan from the app's main menu.
  • Before starting the scan, look for Scan Settings or similar options.

Change File Format:

  • In the Scan Settings, select PDF as the file format instead of PNG.
  • Complete the scan and save the document as a PDF.

2. Use Windows Fax and Scan or Mac Preview

For Windows:

Open Windows Fax and Scan:

  • Go to Start > Windows Accessories > Windows Fax and Scan.

Initiate a Scan:

  • Click New Scan.

Select Scan Type:

  • Choose PDF as the file format in the scan settings.

Save the Document:

  • After scanning, save the document in PDF format.

For Mac:

Open Preview:

  • Connect your printer and open Preview from the Applications folder.

Initiate a Scan:

  • Go to File > Import from Scanner.

Select PDF:

  • In the scan settings, choose PDF as the file format.

Save the Document:

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
