HP Smart Tank 7306 All-in-One
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi

I'm using a new "HP Smart Tank 7306" printer with the "HPEasyStart 13.4.8-ST7300_55_3_5043_2_Webpack"
to scan duplex pages via the ADF feeder  [ 2-sided/manual option is available and set ]

When scanning duplex pages to pdf with the "HP Scan" Software , pages are in the following order

PageA - Side 1
PageB - Side 1
PageA - Side 2
PageB - Side 2

Before, I was using an "HP 6960" with the "Full_Webpack-40.14.1195_1-OJ6960" Software
in this configuration the "HP Scan" software gave this result

PageA - Side 1
PageA - Side 2

PageB - Side 1
PageB - Side 2

>> so no page reorganisation needed

I have compared the settings in the "HP Scan" Software but did not find a difference.

Is there a possibility to change to the usual result ?

UPDATE : When scanning duplex with Adobe Acrobat, the pages are in correct order.

Thanks for your help

Best regards

@MalekoJ, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

This model printer does not support 2-sided scanning according to the printer specifications. If you are manually flipping the page in the feeder, which app are you using to scan?

Are you using the HP smart app or the full-feature driver?

If the Adobe app is able to provide required results, you may continue using it for 2-sided scanning.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

Hi    ,   thanks for your message

As mentioned in my post, i'm using the "manuel duplex function" within the "HP Scan" software, while having the full driver installed ( HPEasyStart 13.4.8-ST7300_55_3_5043_2_Webpack)

Sorting the pages correctly worked fine during the last 5 years with my HP6960 Printer also   HP Scan &  Full Driver.
Now with the new "HP Scan" software this does not work anymore.

As the 7306 printer works fine on a friends workstation ( Full driver & Adobe ),
it looks for me, that "HP Scan" is not able anymore to sort the pages correctly.

Best regards

Have you tried reinstalling the printer driver?

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor to diagnose and fix any driver issue

Click here to download the file. Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation and click on 'Fix scanning'.

Let me know how it goes.

Hello

I have uninstalled the driver + reboot + reinstalled the driver.
Then started the "HP Print and Scan Doctor".
All works fine, except that "HP Scan" does not organize the scanned duplex pages as
the app did it with the old printer.

Same result on a fresh Windows installation.

I added then the old 6960 printer&software to the fresh Windows installation.
Once "HP Scan    Software/Driver" of the 6960 Printer has finished scanning the duplex pages ( 2-page manual), the pages are put automatically in the correct order before I can save the PDF or JPEG documents.
This step does not happen in the 7306 Installation.
